Italian Food Festival - Asia Live

And I'm back with another food festival. And this time it's about my favourite cuisine. Yep, Italian Food Festival! :D The Italian Food Festival at Asia Live is not just getting a chance to taste the fantastic regional specialties but also to delve in to local culture.

Starting with Salads, Italian salads are full of cheese, olives and italian spices. Also, the general rule for most italian salads is very little vinegar, the right amount of salt and a generous amount of oil. The salads were fresh and tasted good. There was also Tomato Soup as appetizer.

Coming to main course I started with Chicken Al Valdostana which is chicken breasts draped with prosciutto and fontina cheese and capped with sauteed mushrooms for melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I then got me some Risotto was one of the best risotto that I have tried in a while. Spaghetti Calabrese which is served in a spicy tomato and basil concase was ah-mazing. There was also shredded cheese in a bowl next to the dish if anyone wanted to add more cheese (which of course I did duh :p).

There was Pepperoni Pizza and in all honestly I can have that pizza for the rest of my life and not get bored it was that good! Enjoyed baked potatoes with rosemary, nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy outside. Beef Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce was delish! Medium rare steak with generous sauce, loved it! The Oven Baked Fish was perf too!

Also tried Veal Chops, Chicken Al Limone, Shrimps in orange sauce, Lasagne Pesto, and Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli. The coating on the veal chops lacked seasoning. Not a big fan of pesto so Lasagna was just okay for me tho the white sauce was superb. And I just couldn't understand the flavor of ravioli. My palate just did not like it at all. Shrimps were a bit over done and the chicken was a little dry.

Now in desserts, I did not see a wide variety however most of the desserts were tasteful. The cheese cake was to die for! Liked the walnut tarts too and my fav creme caramel.

Italian Food Festival is on till the 21st of May for 2300 PKR plus tax per person. I'd highly recommend all italian cuisine lovers to visit Italian Food Festival at Avari Towers and indulge in some authentic italian food!
