Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - Applied

My Review:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation comes in a hard plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The bottle itself is colourless which is a good thing as I can see how much product I've used. It's available in 8 shades only, mostly yellow toned, so finding a match could be an issue for some. I am using shade no. 53 (Light Beige) which is luckily an absolute match for my complexion.

It has a fruity smell which I find it quite refreshing but if you like odor-free products, I am not sure you’d like it very much. However, the scent disappears instantly on applying it to your face, so don't let that scare you off.

The texture is light and smooth and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. The consistency is creamy and not runny. You only need a small amount and it blends like a dream. It's build-able yet feels light and natural on skin and doesn't look cakey. Good part is, even after layering up it does not give a mask effect but a better version of my own skin so for an everyday wear foundation, the light coverage allows you to achieve that natural look with a healthy glow that comes from the foundation.

It has medium coverage with more of a satin finish. It covers blemishes and unevenness but won't cover bigger problem areas like scar marks and zits. Living in a sunny and humid city, I get oil on my T-zone area after 3-4 hours of application if I don't wear primer underneath or use a setting spray or powder. Sadly, it doesn't live up to its 16 hours claim for me and tends to fade at the end of the day. But for a non-matte foundation, it still lasts pretty well when set with powder and I don't feel the need to blot or touch up as frequently as with other drugstore foundations. On a dry cold day, it remains shine free through out the day. You might need a hydrating primer underneath if you’re using it in an extremely dry weather condition and I am not too sure if it'd hold up well for oily skin type in humidity.

Overall, I'm quite please with Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. Great for daily wear as it looks naturally flawless. It doesn’t settle into lines and doesn't break me out and is somewhat transfer resistance. Keeping the not holding up well in hot humid conditions part aside, it's a lovely foundation. The limited shade range might be a problem if you have a dark skin tone.

Pros:
  • Small quantity required.
  • Blends easily.
  • Satin finish.
  • Gives a soft glow.
  • Medium to buildable coverage.
  • Nice fruity scent.
  • Feels light and natural on the skin.
  • Non comedogenic.
  • Comes with a pump.
  • Doesn't transfer or oxidize.
  • Travel friendly.
Cons:
  • Average wear time.
  • If you expect full coverage.
  • Will not spread well on dry or un-moisturized skin.
  • Limited shades.
  • No SPF.
  • You find it pricey.
My Rating:
4/5
