Difference b/w Nail Polish and Nail Lacquer:

Okay first off, let me differentiate a nail lacquer from a nail polish. Even though the terms nail lacquers and nail polishes are often used synonymously, there are a few differences between the two.

  • Nail lacquers are used to protect your nails. Nail polishes are used for decorating and coloring your nails.
  • Nail polish is often much thinner in consistency than nail lacquers. Nail lacquers are renowned for their thickness.
  • Nail polish lends a designer look to your nails. Nail lacquer serve to make your nails look shiny and glossy.
  • One of the advantages of choosing nail lacquers over nail polishes is that the lacquers strengthen your nails by giving them a thick coating.
  • Many stylists and cosmetologist recommend nail lacquers because they are more durable and chip resistant.

Review:

O.P.I. Nail Lacquers have quite interesting and creative names giving a whole new personality to the lacquers. Each year they come up with 2 collections with 12 exclusive lacquers designed for the collection. OPI chooses 2 destinations every year to get the inspiration for their collections and the names of their lacquers are kept inspired by the destination

I was sent two gorgeous O.P.I. Nail Lacquers by Cosmo Group which are Do You Sea What I Sea? which is a bright metallic blue colour and Is That A Spear In Your Pocket which is a muted blue leaning towards teal. Both lacquers are from the latest Fiji Collection.

Sturdy bottle that has 15ml of product so that justifies the cost for me. The brush is flat and medium in length and the bristles are wide so it coats nails nicely and makes application so so easy I can't stress enough on that. Dries super fast and the second coat can be applied within a couple minutes after the first one.

Both the shades are very rich-looking and flattering on the nails. The first coat is pigmented but a little streaky but just in the second coat these lacquers do the job for me. I suggest you always let the first coat dry and then go with the second one to avoid a streaky look.

The formula is so good (the world raves about it and I don't disagree) my nails didn't chip for 3 days! And the shine was still there! I am sure they can go even longer with a top coat.

My favourite out of the two is Is That A Spear In Your Pocket?. It looks so pretty I just can't stop looking at my nails. lol

O.P.I Nail Lacquer is available for 1375 PKR at Scentsation, Define (Lucky One Mall) and Amethyst Spa.
